Listen: Iron and Wine – Lovers’ Revolution

Well, this took me by surprise.  Seeing as how there was nearly four years between Iron and Wine’s previous two albums, 2007’s The Shepherd’s Dog and 2011’s Kiss Each Other Clean, the possibility of a new album from Sam Beam and Co. wasn’t in my periphery.  I guess that’s why assuming something is never a good idea.  Anyways, the band is back with a jazzy new sound and will release their new album, Ghost On Ghost, on April 16 courtesy of Nonesuch.  The album’s first single, “Lovers’ Revolution.” was also released following the announcement and, I gotta say, I love it.  The jazz-infusion, freak-out was briefly touched upon on Kiss Each Other Clean, but now it appears Beam is diving in head first.  Check out the song below to judge for yourself.
