So that happened. The first year in quite some time I have been disappointed by an Austin City Limits lineup. Usually I buy my 3-day pass for mid-tier acts and skip around the headliners to avoid the crowds (except Beck in ’08 and Muse in ’09). This year it would most definitely be reversed, had I spent $200 on the ridiculous hike in price. Red Hot Chili Peppers will undoubtedly be a great Sunday closer, as will Jack White, Neil Young, and The Black Keys for whatever night they close. Other than that? The Shins played two shows at SXSW, as did most of the other middle acts who I’d care to see. But I guess Weezer could be a welcome addition, if they only played cuts from Blue and Pinkerton.
